Cientos de los representantes más influyentes y renombrados de la industria de los salones profesionales de peluquería y belleza se dieron cita en Barcelona (España) del 3 al 6 de junio de 2006 con el fin de asistir a las Global Salon Business Forum & Awards 2006. Cerca de 80 de los salones más importantes del mundo, en representación de 21 países, fueron distinguidos con los codiciados premios al Empresario de Salón del Año™ y a la Excelencia Empresarial en una ceremonia con la que culminaron cuatro días de excelentes seminarios, mesas redondas, foros educativos, cenas y celebraciones exclusivas.

Las jornadas dieron comienzo con las extraordinarias ceremonias de apertura llevadas a cabo en el Estadio Olímpico de Barcelona y fueron seguidas, a la mañana siguiente, por la sesión del Global Salon Business Forum 2006 que tuvo como marco el impresionante Palau de la Música. En ella, varios de los líderes más influyentes del sector compartieron su experiencia y conocimientos acerca de temas como estrategia, globalización, marketing de marca y estilo de vida, creatividad, inspiración y espíritu empresarial.

Salon Entrepreneur of the Year™ – Single & Multi-Unit
This coveted award recognizes the salon owners whom have achieved extraordinary success through their managerial innovation and entrepreneurship. These business owners have developed a unique and innovative culture, team, systems and strategies that make them highly successful business leaders, which is demonstrated through exceeding the performance standards in all three areas of judging criteria : Salon Leadership, Client Philosophy and General Management.
Entrepreneurial Excellence Award for Salon Leadership
This award recognizes the entrepreneurial leadership style of the business owner/s and the well-being and satisfaction of their employees. The key considerations include an assessment of their internal systems, such as: employee attraction and retention, innovative compensation and benefit programs, employee development, rewards and recognition.
Entrepreneurial Excellence Award for Client Philosophy/Marketing & Promotion
This award recognizes the philosophy, mission and vision of the salon as it relates to the customer, including an evaluation of the salons external management of the business in regard to brand and image, marketing & promotional programs, innovative customer attraction and retention programs, customer service policies, return visit initiatives, loyalty programs and incentives, as well as the active role the salon plays in community-based projects .
Entrepreneurial Excellence Award for General Management
This award recognizes the entrepreneurial background and philosophy of the owner/s and the unique culture that they have created in the salon environment and in their community. Of particular focus is an evaluation of the owners overall management skills including the financial management of the business and the success and accomplishments achieved in regards to sales, profitability, growth and sales productivity.
